New functionality, developed with Circle, allows institutional clients to custody, mint and redeem USDC through a single operating framework. 

Product uses blockchain infrastructure operated by SIX to tokenise shares in private companies, wrapping them in a depositary receipt structure.  

Speaking at Citi’s recent Investor Day, services head Shahmir Khaliq highlighted the importance of bank grade custody solutions that clients ‘can trust’. 

Post-trade giant adds public blockchain connectivity to its multi-chain strategy, with tokenised assets expected on the Stellar network in the first half of 2027.

ADGM-anchored collaboration will initially focus on Bitcoin and Ethereum custody, with plans to expand into stablecoins and tokenised real-world assets. 

Newly created role brings together transaction banking, securities services and digital assets capabilities within corporate and investment banking.

The collaboration is expected to tackle the fragmentation of collateral and risk workflows across digital and traditional infrastructures and provide a unified framework for clients to scale tokenisation strategies.
