Krishnan, Sriram

Sriram Krishnan has spent over 26 years working across India’s banking and financial services sector, including two decades with international banks in senior leadership roles.

Since 2022, Sriram Krishnan has served as chief business development officer at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India. Alongside his role at NSE, he holds director positions at several related entities, including the National Securities Depository, NSE Indices, India International Depository IFSC, India International Bullion Exchange IFSC, and Cogencis Information Services.  

Prior to joining NSE, Krishnan spent more than seven years at Deutsche Bank, where he held a range of roles, most recently as managing director and co-head of global transaction banking in India. He previously led the bank’s securities services business in India and served as director. 

His earlier roles include leading securities services sales at Citibank India, with a focus on offshore clients investing into the country, and over a decade at HSBC in various senior positions. He began there in 2001 as vice president and head of finance and customer service, before moving into client relationship and business development roles. 

Krishnan’s career also includes time at Franklin Templeton India and Stock Holding Corporation of India, where he developed experience across operations, sales, and custody. 

He is a chartered accountant (ACA) and cost accountant (ACMA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
