Director Quits Nomura After Misconduct Probe

Shigeru Shinohara, chairman and CEO of Nomura Asset Management UK (NAM UK) has left the firm following an investigation into allegations he made inappropriate advances towards a junior employee.

Reporting on the matter in January, Global Custodian saw an email circulated to staff at Nomura by an employee alleging the board member made continued advances to them, using his position to try and get “intimately closer to her.

Richard Bisson has assumed day-to-day executive responsibilities as president at NAM UK. Formerly COO, Bisson has been at NAM since 1994.

Masanori Itatani assumes the role of non-executive chairman. Itatani-san is already a non-executive director of NAM UK.
