HSBC has appointed Kapil Seth as regional head of securities services, Middle East and North Africa.

Seth had previously headed up securities services in India since 2008.

He has been with HSBC for 20 years, including a number of VP and SVP roles within client coverage in India.

In a statement, HSBC said Seth was instrumental in the growth of the securities services business in India, particularly as the market further opened up to foreign investment.

Seth’s new position will be based in Dubai and he will report to Cian Burke, HSBC’s Global head of securities services, and Georges Elhedery, HSBC’s head of global banking and markets, Middle East and North Africa.

He succeeds Arindam Das, who has taken up a new role within HSBC.
