Wall Street Systems says the latest version (Release 4.1) of its Wall Street System treasury and capital markets application can now run on Sun Microsystems’ Solaris 10 Operating System (OS).
“We recognize that our clients are under increasing pressure to reduce the complexity of their IT infrastructures, while improving efficiency and lowering operating costs,” says Mike Thrower, marketing director at Wall Street Systems. “The Solaris 10 OS has fast become the industry benchmark and we are pleased to enable our clients to take advantage of the innovations of the deployment platform. Our long-standing relationship with Sun, developed over many years, will enable Wall Street Systems to continue to deliver best-of-breed technology solutions, meeting the needs of our clients today and in the future.”
Sun says Solaris 10 OS can run applications up to 30 times faster and web server performance is more than 40 percent faster than competing systems.
Nigel Woodward, global manager, Capital Markets & Securities, Sun Microsystems, says “the scale, resilience and performance of Solaris 10 will match the impressive broad spectrum of capability that Wall Street Systems now covers: market, credit, operational risk and STP functions.”
