Van Hedge Fund Advisors says its hedge fund universe is bearish about US equities, the US Dollar and the US Treasury 10-year Note.
For the first time since inception of the VAN Macro Sentiment Indicators in March 2004, all these indicators are bearish in the same month. The group has become slightly more negative on the U.S. Dollar as their pessimistic view has moved from 48% in September to 57% in October. Once again there has been a reversal in the U.S. Treasury 10-year Note with 52% reporting a bearish view. Finally, with respect to the S&P 500, the managers have become increasingly pessimistic with 56% expecting to see the index close the month lower.
