The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) had total market capitalization in February of $1.366 trillion, with year-to-date volume at 12.9 billion shares, RBC Global Services reported today.
TSX Venture market capitalization was $24.3 billion. Year-to-date value on the TSX was $156.9 billion.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index closed February at 8788.49 up 267.10 from January while S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index closed February at 1,889.31, an increase of 7.9% since the beginning of 2004.
The most active TSX issues were Nortel Networks Corporation, Tahera Corporation, Bombardier Inc, and Constellation Copper.
There were 11 new listings in February. Year-to-date new listings increased 214.3% compared with the same period in 2003.
