Trema, a provider of strategic software solutions for the financial industry, has named Rgis Castagn as General Manager, for Southern Europe, the Middle East and the Africa region.

Mr Castagn brings over 15 years experience in the financial industry to Trema, joining the company from GL Trade where he held the position of Sales Director, Southern Europe, responsible for regional offices in Paris, Brussels, Madrid, Geneva and Johannesburg. Previously he was a General Manager for Continental Europe & the Middle East at Standard & Poor’s Institutional Market Services.

Terry Beadle, Chief Marketing Officer, Trema, comments: “Southern Europe is a key market and important next step in Trema’s growth strategy,” said Terry Beadle, Chief Marketing Office at Trema. “The appointment of Rgis Castagn, and our growing regional presence that this appointment signifies, sends a message to the wider market that Trema has an extremely strong proposition to offer the financial industry.”

The recruitment of Rgis Castagn follows a series of strategic regional appointments including Rudi Schlett as General Manager for Central Europe and Thomas Bergqvist as General Manager for Northern Europe, the company said.

“I am extremely pleased to be given the opportunity to join a company with such fantastic assets, especially a team of recognized professionals and a proven partnership spirit with customers,” Castagne said. “My aim will be to build on this success and expand Trema’s position as the leading supplier of strategic solutions to banks, corporates and asset managers, focusing on France, Switzerland, Italy and Spain.”

Trema already has a strong foothold in France, counting Banque de France, France Telecom, Valeo and Aventis amongst its clients. Trema’s principal research and development arm is also based in Sophia Antipolis, France.
