On 8 June, the Nikkei Financial newspaper reported that the Tokyo Stock Exchange plans to list ETFs linked to overseas stock index by December 2007.
ETF balance has been increasing quickly in overseas markets backed by the large supply and variation of products linked to commodity prices.
For this reason, the TSE has publicized “Development of Comprehensive Improvement Program for Listing System 2007,” which aims at the listing of ETFs linked to other than stock index. ETFs linked to commodity prices are considered a new focal point in the program.
