Syntegra unveiled its new voice recognition functionality today for the first time in the UK at the Dealing with Technology (DWT) conference in London.

Simon Pritchard, senior product manager for trading systems at Syntegra, gave a presentation on the work the company has undertaken with Vox Generation, a provider of spoken language tools, to add voice recognition to its ITS Myriad trading platform.

Syntegra says that adding Vox Trader to ITS Myriad means the feedback from a spoken instruction is visible and immediate. Trades can be entered, CRM systems updated, contacts dialled, e-mails sent and screens manipulated by spoken command. Using Wireless ITS Myriad, people on the move can also access and input information through voice-enabled PDAs and mobile phones.

“The finance industry is one of BT’s largest markets for Information and Communications Technology,” says Rod MacDonald, managing director of trading systems at Syntegra.
