In addition to the Ho Chi Minh city branch, which commenced business in 2006, and network and services of local Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Branch, whom the bank signed a business and capital alliance agreement with in 2007, the opening of the Hanoi Branch will enable SMBC to meet wider needs of its customers.
Masaya Hirayama is to head the branch.
