State Street client team boss departs after 18 months

State Street’s head of asset manager client management group - Matthew Davey - has left the company a year and a half after returning, Global Custodian has learnt.

State Street’s head of asset manager client management group – Matthew Davey – has left the company a year and a half after returning, Global Custodian has learnt.

Industry veteran Davey joined State Street for a second time in November 2014 having previously worked for the bank for over a decade from 1996 to 2007.

He held a senior vice president role, and was responsible for the management of client relationship team servicing asset managers in UKMEA.

Davey reported to Mark Westwell, senior vice president, head of client relationship management UKMEA at the time of his appointment and had a public facing role at State Street, speaking at a number of industry conferences, including Sibos.

In his 25 years of working for custodian banks, Davey has held roles at JP Morgan, BNY Mellon and HSBC. His career began in 1989 where he began developing expertise in client relationship management.

His first spell at State Street saw him work in London and Boston as vice president, investor services, EMEA.

State Street declined to comment. Davey did not respond to a request for comment at the time of publication.
