The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has selected SmartStream’s TLM Reconciliations Premium solution for the SEC’s Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE).

TLM Reconciliations Premium stores and helps manage transaction data throughout the transaction lifecycle. The SEC plans to use the platform to support OCIE’s nationwide examination and inspection program for registered self-regulatory organizations, broker-dealers, transfer agents, clearing agencies, investment companies, and investment advisers.

The SEC uses OCIE’s examinations to inform rule-making initiatives, identify and monitor risks, improve industry practices and to pursue misconduct.

In addition to TLM Reconciliations Premium, the SEC has also purchased TLM SmartRecs, which can be implemented into the TLM Reconciliations platform, and it allows operational staff to define data and quickly deliver documented reconciliations results. The platform utilizes data from ByAllAccounts, a Morningstar company that SmartStream has had a partnership with to feed aggregated, reconciliation-ready data into the solution.

SEC examiners in Washington, D.C., as well as 11 regional offices across the country will be able to use the solutions.
