Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) has been selected by Skandia Investment Management to manage a segregated corporate bond portfolio valued at GBP145m.
The appointment, one of the biggest mandates given by the Swedish insurer, will be managed by Royal London’s fixed interest team, led by Jonathan Platt, head of fixed interest.
“We are delighted to award this mandate to the Royal London team who can boast a market-leading approach in the corporate bond arena,” said Jamie MacLeod, CEO at Skandia IM. “The size of the mandate reflects both our conviction in the team’s abilities and the growth of multi manager assets that we have experienced over the past three years.”
“This is an important win for RLAM,” said Andrew Carter, CEO, RLAM. “Skandia IM has rapidly become a very important institutional client in the UK and is renowned for the toughness and rigour of its selection process, and this is testament to the excellence of our fixed interest team.”
