Reuters has launched 3000 Xtra Companion, a new product that provides mobile and remote access to news, prices and charts. Reuters 3000 Xtra Companion – offered exclusively to subscribers of the company’s flagship offering, 3000 Xtra – was developed in response to the needs of financial market professions who want access to information when away from their desktop or office.

For the first time, Reuters 3000 Xtra users will be able to access news, charts and prices via a standard Internet browser or a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). The new service also allows quote lists and key information stored on the Reuters 3000 Xtra desktop to be imported into Reuters 3000 Xtra Companion via simple drag and drop facilities, making key information available outside the office either on a PC or PDA.

Reuters 3000 Xtra Companion is exclusively available to 3000 Xtra customers at no additional cost and can be utilised in minutes following a simple set-up process.

Paul Hansford, Head of Reuters Premium Desktop said: “As Reuters flagship product, we are constantly looking to add new innovations to make Reuters 3000 Xtra the preferred desktop by supporting the way our customers now work. With 3000 Xtra Companion, being away from the Reuters 3000 Xtra workstation doesn’t mean being away from the action, and our customers can now have professional access to market data wherever and whenever they need it.”
