Qimonda AG, the recently incorporated memory-chip manufacturing company carved out from Infineon Technologies AG, has appointed Citigroup as depositary for its NYSE-listed American Depositary Receipt (ADR) Program. Qimonda and Infineon are headquartered in Munich, Germany. The initial public offering of Qimonda American Depositary Shares (ADSs) trades under the symbol QI (CUSIP 746904101). The ratio of Ordinary Shares to ADRs is 1 to 1. Qimonda Ordinary Shares are not listed in overseas markets.

“Accessing the U.S. capital market will enhance our global visibility as we build Qimonda into the world’s leading creative memory company,” says Michael Majerus, Chief Financial Officer of Qimonda. “Our exchange-listed ADSs are key to further develop our global investor base.”

“The U.S. capital market is the deepest and most liquid capital market in the world,” says Nancy Lissemore, Global Head of Citigroup Depositary Receipt Services. “That is the primary reason excellent companies such as Qimonda wish to access it. With its NYSE listing, we are pleased to see Qimonda thinking beyond the initial offering to achieve its goals of long-term liquidity and broadly based research coverage.”

Qimonda AG is the second largest Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) company worldwide, according to iSuppli, April 2006, and one of the top suppliers of DRAM products for the PC and server markets. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Infineon, Qimonda, generated net sales of €2.8 billion in fiscal year 2005. The company has approximately 12,000 employees worldwide including 1,700 in R&D, with access to five state-of-the-art chip manufacturing sites on three continents. With a historical emphasis on PC and server products, the company is now focusing on products for graphics, mobile and consumer applications using its power-saving trench technology.
