One in three American employees (34%) heard a sexually inappropriate comment (presumably not of their own utterance) made in the workplace last year, according to a national telephone survey by Novations Group, a global consulting organization based in Boston. However, ethnic and racial slurs weren’t far behind, reported by 30% and 26%, respectively. Men were twice as likely as women to hear any kind of workplace ridicule, but especially likely to overhear sexual comments – by a margin of 2-1.
