The California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) is looking for an alternative investment consultant to “provide expertise, advice, and recommendations to the CalSTRS Investment Committee related to the overall investment strategy, policies and practices of the CalSTRS alternative investment program.” The final filing date for proposals is March 30, 2007, with the selection expected by July 1, 2007. At year’s end, the alternative investment component of the $158 billion portfolio had market value of $9.4 billion, with committed values of $19.9 billion.
