Plan International, a charity, has bought EigerPAY Gateway from Eiger Systems, the provider of validation and payment solutions for automated banking and e-commerce.

EigerPAY Gateway will enable Plan International to utilise BACSTEL-IP, the new payment submission platform from BACS, scheduled to replace the existing BACSTEL service by 31st December 2005.

Plan International relies on donations made by members of the general public to support its work, especially fixed monthly sums. The charity processes over 1,000,000 Direct Debits a year.

Hazel Newton, Plan International’s in-house Accountant, comments: “We recognised the need to move to BACSTEL-IP, but wanted to ensure that the transition would be as quick, efficient and cost-effective as possible. Having evaluated the various options available to us, we decided to work with Eiger Systems because of the high level of assistance they gave us from the outset in helping us overcome the technical problems we faced with our existing systems.”
