SunGard has bought Octigon – a software development company located in Birmingham, Alabama, that focuses on designing applications for business communication across the Internet – for an undisclosed sum.
Octigon’s core product, Octane8, is a Web-based application that provides Website development, content management, and collaboration for novice and advanced Web developers. Octane8 consists of a core development tool that allows both technical and non-technical people to create and manage complex, database-driven Websites and Intranets. Octane8 allows the components needed for Website architecture to be managed independently of each other, enabling designers, business managers, content providers and IT staff to collaborate more effectively.
“We have worked with Octigon for nearly three years and have been very impressed with their product offerings, talented and energetic staff, and leadership,” says Jason Ingram, President of SunGard Workflow Systems. “Octane8 will complement SWS’ offerings and help further our goal of streamlining our customers’ operations through a combination of process improvement and technology”.
