OCC Securities Lending CCP Activity Jumped in April

OCC’s securities lending CCP activities increased 53% in new loans last month compared to April 2012.

The firm’s year-to-date stock loan activity is up 38% from 2012. Average daily loan value in March was $48.86 billion.

Total cleared contract volume last month also rose 17% year over year, while total year-to-date contract volume is down half a percent from last April.

Exchange-listed options trading volume rose 16% year over year, making it the highest April volume level on record. Average daily volume was 6% higher this April than last, while average daily volume year to date is down 1%.

Futures cleared by OCC were up 123% year over year in April. Average daily cleared futures last month were 103% higher than last April. Year-to-date cleared futures are up 87% over the same period last year.
