Deutsche Börse has combined its Market Data & Analytics unit with its external technology and connectivity services into a new “Market Data + Services” business segment.
Market Data + Services will be part of the firm’s IT & MD+S division, which is headed by Hauke Stars, executive board member. The new segment is led by Holger Wohlenberg, managing director.
The new business provides information and services for the full investment cycle, including segments for Front Office Data + Services, Issuer Data + Services, Back Office Data + Services, COO Data + Services and Venue Services.
Front Office Data + Services targets investors, brokers, trading desks, algo traders and investment advisers who use real-time data or other market moving signals to make recommendations or transactional decisions. The unit will be led by Georg Gross.
Issuer Data + Services, headed by Hartmut Graf, is responsible for the STOXX and DAX indices, serving issuers that use indices as underlyings or benchmarks for financial products such as futures, options, ETFs and structured products.
Back Office Data + Services, led by Sascha Rangoonwala, focuses on the middle and back offices of securities trading houses that use instrument reference data for risk management, compliance and reporting, as well as market participants who process and safeguard securities.
COO Data + Services, headed by Sean Chinnock, supports COOs and CIOs of financial market participants who require IT services in order to support or facilitate business processes. And Venue Services, led by Alexander Höptner, is geared toward market operators with infrastructure and associated services such as trading surveillance.
“The new Market Data + Services segment allows us to combine our strong expertise in technology and market data to better respond to client needs and offer innovative solutions,” Stars says. “We look forward to expanding our product and service offerings to further benefit the global investment and trading community.”
