Northern Trust has appointed a new senior relationship manager for its securities lending business in Australia and New Zealand, with the aim to lead sales across the region.

Grace Hayman has been promoted to the role and will relocate from Singapore to Sydney. She previously served in a similar role for its Southeast Asian securities lending client base, and has also worked across product and client management roles for Northern Trust in London.

Hayman will be responsible for leading securities lending business development activities across the region.

“Northern Trust continues to build its in-market support and expertise to meet the increased demand for innovative securities lending solutions from asset managers and asset owners,” said Mark Snowdon, head of capital markets, Asia Pacific, Northern Trust.

“Grace’s experience will be instrumental in further strengthening our relationships with clients in Australia and New Zealand and providing technical insights and expertise to this sophisticated market.”

Among her new objectives would be to bring new capital markets solutions to the bank’s regional client base.

William Mak, head of Northern Trust in APAC, explained in October last year that the Asia-Pacific region will be an important area of growth and to introduce new products.

“We see significant opportunity to bring our customisable capabilities to the region,” said Mak.
