Northern Trust has named a new head for its Australasia business after relocating its current regional head, Madeleine Senior, to London.

Angelo Calvitto will become the new head of business for the region comprising of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, effective June this year.

Callvitto currently serves as head of sales for its institutional business across the Asia-Pacific region for Northern Trust in Melbourne.

“Northern Trust’s Australasia business has undergone a dynamic period of expansion over the past few years and been a key driver of growth across the broader Asia-Pacific region,” said William Mak, head of Asia-Pacific, Northern Trust.

“His [Callvitto] leadership, experience and regional expertise will ensure we remain best-placed to support the unique needs of our clients across the region.”

Calvitto succeeds Senior, who has served as country head for almost three years. She will take on a new leadership role in London.

Senior has been a senior member of Northern Trust since 2000 in various relationship management and account management roles. Prior to moving to Australia in 2015, she was head of EMEA business development.

Elsewhere, Northern Trust has appointed Dave Sauvarin as head of its Guernsey office, and will be responsible for growing its Channel Islands business. He was previously chief risk officer for Northern Trust in the Channel Islands.
