HSBC Securities Services (HSS) has made two custody appointments in the Asia-Pacific region. Jitendra Somani has been appointed as head of global custody, Asia-Pacific, and Edmond Ng as head of global custody, China. Both are newly created positions.
Tony Lewis, head of global custody, HSS. said: These appointments further strengthen the global custody teams in Asia-Pacific and are a reflection of our continued commitment to our clients in the region.
Jitendra Somani is located in Hong Kong and is responsible for the Banks global custody delivery in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to the new appointment, Somani was head of transfer agency for HSS.
Located in Beijing, Edmond Ng is responsible for all global custody and related product delivery matters for mandates originating from clients domiciled in China. Ng was previously head of global custody services, Europe for two years and prior to that was responsible for the global custody operations group in Asia-Pacific.
Both roles report functionally to Lewis.
