Citi is appointing Frederick Bailey as head of North America consultant relations, the department that coordinates Citis relationships with consulting firms that asset managers employ for investment operations and servicing guidance.

Bailey has more than 30 years of experience in the institutional investment industry. Prior to joining Citi in 2011, he was the global head of Plan Sponsor Sales at BNY ConvergEx.

The North America group Bailey will oversee is part of a team that provides consultant relations support for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Baileys appointment is a part of the companys plan to expand consultant relations.

“We recognize the significant role that consultants play in our industry,” says Bob Wallace, North America head of Securities and Fund Services, Citi. “Increasingly, our investor clients are turning to consultancy and advisory firms in accounting, legal, compliance, research, and the like as a means to gain a competitive advantage and make informed business decisions. Consultants are influential and valuable resources in helping to shape our clients business strategies, and therefore they are essential to us as well.”
