Mercer Wins £150 Million Pension Consulting Contract From Linde

Mercer Human Resource Consulting has been appointed to provide actuarial and investment consulting services for the pension arrangements of Linde Material Handling – part of the German-owned Linde Group, which provides fork-lift truck services, industrial gases and refrigeration services throughout the world.

Mercers appointment will involve advising two UK subsidiaries and the trustees of four pension schemes. Combined assets are approximately 150m and membership is in excess of 1,000.

Linde Material Handling (UK) Ltd specialises in material handling and hydraulics, and in the UK it is best known as a maker of fork-lift trucks and tractors. Until 1 December 2003 it was known as Lansing Linde Ltd. It has a global workforce of nearly 50,000, of which some 2,500 are UK-based.

Mercer was in competition with Aon, Entegria, Lane Clarke & Peacock and Punter Southall for this appointment. Watson Wyatt were the previous incumbents.
