Markit has integrated real-time OTC derivatives trade data into its Portfolio Valuations service via MarkitSERV, the company’s electronic trade processing service.

The Portfolio Valuations service provides mark-to-market valuations and risk analytics for OTC derivatives across all asset classes, private equity instruments, structured notes and fixed income cash products. With the feed from MarkitSERV now, users can reduce costs by not building a separate trade feed for valuations.

At first, the integration will cover interest rate swaps, swaptions and overnight index swaps, and other asset classes will be added in the coming months. Customers provide the authorization for the Portfolio Valuations service to access their trade information via MarkitSERV, and upon doing so, the trades will be captured as they are confirmed and updated throughout their life.

“Our customers are very focused on getting value for service and therefore on managing the technology and cost of connectivity to multiple systems, without compromising accuracy and efficiency,” says Padmesh Thuraisingham, managing director of portfolio valuations at Markit. “This initiative, along with our platform’s existing connectivity to clearinghouses and dealers for delivery of cleared and counterparty valuations, will help customers meet their workflow and reporting needs.”
