City Compass says it has awarded B.I.S.S. 2004/5 Integration and Web Services Gold accreditation to Magic Software, PolarLake and TIBCO Software.

The benchmarking organisation says that, due to the breadth of the systems functionality that comes under the banner of “Integration and Web Services,” it has included a new benchmark category this year. Integra SP has become the first to succeed in the ‘Integration Toolkit’ benchmark tests.

SeeBeyond entered too late to be benchmarked, but a review of their system appears in the analyst report published today by CityCompass Research.

“This years B.I.S.S. benchmarking was a far harder task than last year,” says Gary Wright Managing Director of CityCompass. “The benchmark bar was raised and the four participating systems have proven beyond doubt their true functional capability by achieving the very exacting business requirements, set by the industry panel. It must be noted that the benchmark tests are not to decide winners and losers, but can the system do it or not? The tests are business buying requirements and not a competition between systems. It can be likened to the SWIFT Ready Gold label, but with the buyer’s requirements setting the tests. CityCompass has no hesitation in recommending that systems that carry the B.I.S.S. Gold accreditation should be considered by buyers as true top of the range systems, which have been independently verified by an experienced analyst and an industry panel.”
