Logica has developed a strategy to provide businesses with integrated consulting and implementation services to deploy SAP applications for governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).

This makes Logica one of the first European-based global SAP services partners to offer implementations of SAP applications for GRC. Logicas GRC offering provides an integrated approach to organisations with process management capabilities for operational and supply chain risk management and enables compliance with both financial and environmental regulations.

All organisations must comply with regulations associated with governance, risk and compliance. To date, organisations have tended to use disparate, unconnected processes to resolve individual regulatory requirements, often creating a burden in operations and increasing total cost of ownership. Companies now seek to embed GRC in day-to-day operations by integrating these solutions to handle future requirements more efficiently.

Logica can help organisations to implement SAP applications for GRC and extend their value by providing initial consultancy and business process analysis services, as well as developing and integrating them into an organisations IT infrastructure.

“We are seeing a growing number of organisations struggling to handle the dynamics and complexity of increasing regulatory pressures. In the past, the risk management approach has often evolved through years of tactically responding to risk and results in disparate processes and duplication of effort. Clearly, it does not provide a unified picture of all the internal and external risks and legislations an organisation must adhere to. Today, businesses need to apply an integrated, corporate-wide IT solution which effectively manages all governance, risk and compliance issues, and forms an integral part of day-to-day business activities,” says Nigel Turner, managing director, Logicas SAP business.

“We chose Logica because of their outstanding GRC practice, strong track record and experience with projects related to SAP solutions for GRC. This project, currently in pilot stage, aims to strengthen the internal controls and to optimise the procedures for user provisioning in all four branches of our group. It will enable Areva to define common SoD principles for all the entities worldwide and to embed them in business processes,” adds Philippe Thierry-Mieg, director financial internal control, Areva Group.

“At the core of Logicas approach to governance, risk and compliance is a truly pragmatic and process-focused worldwide GRC framework that provides insight into risks and controls at all levels – from a process, regulatory and risk perspective. We apply this framework to the strategy and sensitivities of our customers and embed it in to their organisations. Dashboards and alerting systems at all levels, as well as rigid and cost-efficient automated controls based on SAP solutions for GRC, deliver transparent compliance, optimised costs of compliance, and accelerate the ability to adapt and absorb new R&C requirements,” says Sbastien Brasseur, responsible for the SAP GRC Business at Logica.

“SAP is the leading software provider for business applications and solutions in the GRC arena. Logica now provides expertise around SAP solutions for GRC. Their approach to GRC will help organisations proactively manage risks, drive sustainability, efficiency and consistency while helping enable compliance with European Union directives, regulations and industry best practices. This in turn will allow them to promote a unified, holistic corporate strategy around control initiatives, risk and loss mitigation across the extended enterprise,” adds Stefan Kaspari, senior vice president, Overlay Sales, EMEA at SAP Deutschland AG & Co. KG.
