Sun National Bank has named Jeffrey P. Hawkins as executive vice president of Retail Banking. Hawkins will begin with the bank on Tuesday, September 5, 2006.

In this position, Hawkins will lead Sun’s retail bank, including 80 locations in New Jersey, Philadelphia, PA, and New Castle County, DE. His focus will be on increasing market share, deposit and loan growth, customer retention and product development, all resulting in enhanced customer and shareholder value. He also will oversee the bank’s Marketing and Facilities Departments and serve as a member of Sun’s senior management team, reporting directly to Thomas A. Bracken, Sun National Bank president and CEO.

“Over the past several months, Sun has intensified our efforts to enhance profitability and progress toward becoming a high-performance retail banking organization,” says Bracken. “Having Jeff join the Sun team is another strategic move toward that end. We are confident he will make significant contributions to strengthening our retail business and help transform Sun into a high-performing, dominant bank in our footprint.”

Hawkins brings more than 10 years of banking experience to his position at Sun. He most recently served as senior vice president and National Sales director at JPMorgan Chase in New York City. There, he created and implemented retail sales initiatives for the bank’s 2,600 national branch network. During his tenure, he significantly increased sales and executed an integrated strategy for customer retention and growth. He also previously was with Deloitte Consulting in New York City. Within its Financial Services Strategy Practice division, he significantly increased growth and sales of Chase Credit Cards, enhanced call center operations and facilitated a number of cost reduction projects to improve overall efficiencies. Earlier in his career, he held positions with M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY, the National Security Agency (NSA) in Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, and the United States Air Force, also in the United Kingdom.

Hawkins earned a master’s of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY. He also graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science from the University of Maryland University College.
