The Bank of New York has hired Ivan Royle from GE Capital in London to succeed Andy Sloan as Vice President and Head of European Communications. Sloan left the bank suddenly earlier this year.

Royle was previously a communications director with G.E. Capital in Europe, where he coordinated public relations for the company’s European mergers-and-acquisitions programme, as well as the branding programme for G.E. in the United Kingdom. His prior experience includes roles as an account director with the London-based public relations firm, GCI Financial, and manager of the press office for the Corporation of London.

“Ivan’s extensive public relations and financial services experience will strengthen our public relations support of the Bank’s diverse businesses throughout the U.K and Europe,” says a Bank of New York spokesman. “He will play a key role in advancing the company’s brand and supporting its continued growth.”
