The former global head of prime finance at HSBC has re-emerged at alternative investment management firm Privium Fund Management.

Paul Hamill has joined the London and Dutch-based the company as chief operating officer (COO), to help drive Privium’s growth initiatives.

Hamill returns after a two-year sabbatical, in which he pursued activities outside the alternatives industry, including founding an independent book publishing company.

He previously served almost six years at HSBC as global head of prime finance, where he led the creation of the business and its business development direction.

Hamill had also spent eight years at hedge fund Citadel as COO and CEO of Europe, and head of global securities finance sale at ING.

“The alternative investment industry continues to grow to new record levels. Portfolio managers require a solid infrastructure in this competitive industry. The increase of regulation and compliance guidelines require a selection of business partners that can make the difference at the starting phase and during the expansion,” said Hamill.

“I am very excited to be part of an organisation that has tremendous growth potential in the different markets.”

Privium is a global infrastructure provider to the alternative investment industry, managing over $2.5 billion in assets.
