HSBC Corporate, Investment Banking and Markets (CIBM) is joining SunGard’s AvantGard e-Treasury eXchange network (AvantGard-ETX). It will enable HSBC customers who use SunGard’s treasury workstation software to make payments and manage cash in both real time and batches, as well as access account balance information and transaction reports.

“The provision of an AvantGard-ETX window to our systems demonstrates HSBC’s continued commitment to improving the quality and choice of connectivity for our customers,” says Marcus Treacher, Head of Global Transaction Banking e-Strategy at HSBC. “Our new client to bank interface will assist our corporate customers in achieving their operational and financial objectives, and complement our strategic internet banking solution, HSBCnet”.

Martin Boyd, executive vice president EMEA of SunGard’s AvantGard business unit, says the new arrangement will increase the delivery of services to mutual customers, and the range of services AvantGard can offer SunGard customers. “One unique attribute of the HSBC partnership is leveraging HSBC’s high volume payment infrastructure, so that customers can use ETX for low value high volume payments as well as high value payments,” he says.
