Investment News is reporting that the House of Representatives has passed The Promoting Transparency in Financial Report Act, which would require federal securities and accounting regulators to report to Congress on what they are doing to make financial reporting easier to understand and to reduce outdated accounting standards.

The chairmen of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board are required to give a testimony to the House of Financial Services.
