The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. announced that Eduardo Centola and Martin Werner have been named as co-heads of Latin America for the firm’s Investment Banking Division, effective immediately.

“We are confident that under the direction of Eduardo and Martin, Goldman Sachs will further strengthen its market position in Latin America,” said Jon Winkelried, CoHead of the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs. “With our leading global and Latin American M&A franchise and capital markets capabilities, we look forward to continuing to provide our clients with advisory and financing products and services.”

Since 2005, Centola has led the Mergers & Acquisitions effort in the Financial Sponsor investment banking group at Goldman Sachs. Prior to that, he was cohead of Mergers & Acquisitions for Latin America. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1999 from Merrill Lynch.

Most recently, Werner has been the head of the Mexico office for Goldman Sachs. Mr. Werner joined Goldman Sachs in 2000, following a long career in the Ministry of Finance in Mexico.
