Global Payments Inc. has appointed Tony Abruzzio as vice president of US Merchant Product Solutions.
“Tony is a proven leader with an exceptional track record in the payments’ industry and we are very fortunate to have him join our team,” said Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning, Jeffery B. Baker. “His experience in the development arena brings a new and unique perspective to Global Payments and better positions the company and its partners to capitalize on new market opportunities evolving in the industry,” Baker said.
Abruzzio most recently served as senior vice president and general manager for VeriFone, Inc. and is credited with the integration of GO Software into their product line. Previously, he spent six years as executive vice president and general manager with GO Software, where he was responsible for developing its PCCharge product line into the industry-leading Windows-based payment processing solution.
He currently serves as chairman of the Technology Committee for the Electronic Transactions Association and is a member of The Green Sheet Advisory Council. Abruzzio holds an MBA from Auburn University and a BBA, Information Systems from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia.
