Global Custodian launches 2022 Prime Brokerage survey

Mainstay of Global Custodian’s surveys launches at a time of transformation within the prime services space.

Global Custodian is pleased to announce the launch of its long-standing Prime Brokerage survey, with clients able to rate their providers from now until 27 June.

The survey has been particularly insightful in recent years amid a swathe of changes and market events, including the pandemic, memestock saga, the collapse of Archegos Capital and – more recently – the withdrawal of Credit Suisse from the market.

Despite the changes, there have been three consecutive years of improving scores in Global Custodian’s Prime Brokerage survey with 2021’s evaluation referring to providers as ‘an anchor in the storm’.

Client Services, Technology and Risk Management all saw major upticks in scoring in 2021, with the latter being a particularly interesting segment in 2022 post-Archegos.

Last year saw over 400 responses across 13 providers including tier one players Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan. Also rated in the survey was ABN Amro Clearing, BNP Paribas, BTIG, Cowen, Cantor Fitzgerald, Interactive Brokers, Lazarus Capital Partners, Interactive Brokers, Pershing and Wells Fargo.
