May 2006 marked a record for German stock exchange trading volumes, rising 116% over last May’s volume.
This may EUR 565.1 billion in contracts were traded on the exchanges, toppling the previous record of EUR 470 billion.
Xetra Trading Platforms also hit record highs with 11.6 million trades made over the platforms. This new record for Xetra rose 91% over the same month in 2005.
