Joining Mizuho in 1991, Tsutomu Yamamoto ascended through the ranks, culminating in a role overseeing securities, custody, fund administration for the bank in 2014. He took on more roles in the years to follow, including becoming managing director of Asia & Oceania corporate banking department – which also included the securities business.
He would go on to take on roles including managing executive officer, head of global corporate division and head of global products unit. Since April 2023, Yamamoto has been senior executive officer/managing executive officer, head of global transaction banking unit.
The position sees him hold responsibility for inbound custody at Mizuho Bank, and domestic and outbound custody at Mizuho Trust Bank and Custody Bank of Japan. Yamamoto has B.A. in Business and Commerce from Keio University and also graduated from Stanford University, Graduate School of Business, in 2012.
