Not content to let retiring as HBOS’s chief executive allow him to fade into the sunset, Sir James Crosby has accepted an appointment to serve on Bridgepoint’s European advisory committee, a decision that will seat him across the table from an old foe.
Crosby will join his former rival Royal Bank of Scotland CEO George Mathewson on the committee.
The two industry veterans will now provide strategic advice on Bridgepoint’s buyout efforts and on its financial services, a growing sector of private equity firms.
Other committee advisers include chancellor of Oxford University Chris Patten and former head of Coca-Cola Britain Penny Hughes.
