European Islamic Investment Bank Plc (EIIB) has hired John Weguelin as managing director.
Weguelin was previously managing director of Bank of America Securities Limited in London, as well as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Administration Officer of Bank of America N.A. for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
During his 20 year career with Bank of America he has held a number of senior positions and has extensive experience of capital markets, treasury and investment banking. He has in total over 30 years banking experience with major London based investment banks.

In addition, EIIB has hired M.A. Mohaimin Chowdhury as head of Legal and Sharia’a Compliance. Chowdhury is a UK qualified solicitor, whose responsibilities in addition to legal compliance will include acting as Compliance Officer and Sharia’a Supervisory Committee Coordinator.
