Johann Goldbrunner, Head of Allianz Global Investors Europe, has decided to return to academia at the end of the year, but will continue to support Allianz Global Investors as a consultant. Elizabeth Corley, formerly a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, will join Allianz Global Investors effective April 1st and assume Goldbrunner’s duties.
Goldbrunner joined Allianz Global Investors in 2000 as an Executive Committee member. He has been instrumental in creating the foundation for Allianz Global Investors in Europe. Goldbrunner’s decision is part of his long-term plan to focus on interests in the academic world.
Corley brings a wealth of knowledge about the asset management industry and the European market. In addition to her role as Managing Director at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, she was Head of Distribution for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. She will report directly to Joachim Faber, CEO, Allianz Global Investors, and she will maintain offices in two cities, Munich and London.
