Deutsche Boerse is still the European market leader in trading exchange traded funds (ETFs) in the first quarter of 2008.
The XTF segment achieved a turnover volume of 31.9 billion in the first three month of 2008 and thus recorded the largest trading volume of all European ETF marketplaces, followed by NYSE Euronext, Borsa Italiana and the London Stock Exchange.
In addition, with currently 316 listed ETFs, Deutsche Boerse offers investors and trading participants a broader variety of products than any other ETF trading venue in Europe.
With the successful first quarter 2008, Deutsche Brse is building on itsrecord year 2007, in which the XTF segment also assumed the leading roleamong European exchanges with annual trading turnover of 108.9 billion and a product offering of 278 ETFs.
Against this backdrop, the international New York based sector medium exchangetradedfunds.com presented three global ETF awards to Deutsche Boerse for the fourth time in a row, in the categories “Europesmost proactive ETF exchange”, “ETF exchange with the highest turnover inEurope”, and “Exchange with the largest number of ETF primary listings in Europe”.
