TIBCO says that Derbyshire Building Society, now one of the largest organisations in the shrunken UK building society sector, has bought its integration tools to improve operational efficiency in home loans, savings and investment products, insurance, purchasing, internal fiscal reconciliation and business-to-business activities.

“Our systems have been built over a number of years and as a result were very silo-based. Our aim has been to get everything working together, without losing the investment in our legacy systems,” says Keith Pattison, head of e-business, Derbyshire Building Society. “Working with TIBCO, we’ve already started to see the real benefits from this business integration project, and we definitely expect more to come through in the next two to three years.

TIBCO says it will integrate home loans, additional advance processes and pre-completion in a phased implementation. So far TIBCO has completed an integration framework platform for the home loan mortgage operation. The implementation has already delivered investment returns by reducing backlog, dramatically simplifying home mortgage application processing and increasing processing volumes. This phase of the implementation is also enhancing workforce productivity, enabling employees to work more quickly and perform a broader range of tasks, because the TIBCO interface is simpler and easier for employees to use.

“Our implementation for the Derbyshire demonstrates how TIBCO solutions can enable companies in the banking and insurance sector to make tremendous efficiency gains and enhance service levels, for significant differentiation in this highly competitive market,” says Erik Hansen, president of EMEA, TIBCO Software Inc.
