Deborah Fuhr, head of exchange-traded fund research at BlackRock, has stepped down from her position.

Fuhr is one of of the global leaders of ETF research, having led divisions at Morgan Stanley and Barclays Global Investors, which was bought in 2009 by BlackRock.

aiCIO, sister publication to Global Custodian, reported that BlackRock is reorganizing its ETF research unit into a new group called BlackRock Investment Institute, to be led by Lee Kempler, who joined the firm earlier this year from consultant McKinsey. Fuhr is believed to remain employed with BlackRock, although in what capacity and for how long is unclear.
