Tom MacMillan, president and chief executive officer of CIBC Mellon, today announced the appointment of David Linds to the position of senior vice president-business development and client relationship management.

Linds will maintain his current role heading up the sales and marketing functions and will also assume responsibility for leading the team that manages client relationships for both CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services and CIBC Mellon Trust Company.

“I believe that our consolidated approach to business development and relationship management will result in greater service benefits for our clients,” says MacMillan. “And David’s experience and business acumen, together with his involvement within the industry, makes him well suited for this role.”

Linds has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry and has been with CIBC Mellon since its inception in 1996. He has been a member of the executive committee since 1999 as senior vice president sales and marketing. Prior to this he spent six years with CIBC World Markets. Well known in the trust and custody business, Linds is active in many industry associations. He is a graduate of Trinity College at the University of Toronto.

CIBC Mellon is a 50-50 joint venture between Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Pittsburgh-based Mellon Financial Corporation, formed in 1996.
