Morley Fund Management has hired sell-side derivatives specialist David Barbour to help strengthen the company’s derivative and operation abilities.
Barbour will set up a legal framework to manage and control derivate instruments, and review Morley’s contracts with market counterparties.
“Derivatives have become an integral part of investment management and a growing number of clients are more aware of the potential for inclusion of derivatives in their portfolios,” says Jez Bezant, head of investment business management for Morley. “We need to make sure we are equipped to select and manage these instruments more widely.”
“David’s extensive experience in commercial negotiation will help us negotiate more favorable terms with market counterparties,” adds Bezant. “We are delighted that he is joining the team.”
Previously Barbour worked as a senior ISDA negotiator for Lehman Brothers, and has more than 13 years of experience in derivatives.
