CSTIM, the investment management consultancy acquired by Morse, is opening an office in Paris. The firm says it has identified a demand for its specialist consultancy services across Continental Europe.

Daniel Berlioz and Cyril Ferrieu are the founding directors of the new practice in Paris. CSTI France will focus on GIPS implementation, market analysis, notation, risk management and regulatory compliance as well as strategic issues and change management. The French directors are also expected to maintain relationships with the relevant authorities (including AMF, Banque de France and, CCA) in order to gain authorisation for new activities or funds.

“The launch of CSTIM in France is a key part of our strategy to provide our clients with a pan-European offering. France has a strong and growing asset management industry and in recent years, French companies have shown their appetite for international expansion through being highly acquisitive on the global stage,” says Kevin Alcock, a founder-director of CSTIM. “We believe that our style of consulting, in-depth expertise and knowledge of the investment industry will be an attractive proposition and by having a presence in Paris and team who truly understand the market there, we will be able to deliver increased value to our clients”.

Prior to joining CSTIM, Daniel Berlioz was a partner of the Asset Management Advisory practice of a another consultancy company. “Given our independence, CSTIM France can both advise clients and implement solutions for them,” he says. “Our team in France will manage assignments both locally in the French market and for our international clients without any conflicts of interest. This unique positioning of specialist expertise and depth of industry knowledge will help achieve success for our clients.”

Founded in the UK in 1998, CSTIM has over 80 consultants across offices in London, Edinburgh, Sydney, Melbourne, Luxembourg, Paris, Jersey, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
