Today Credit Suisse is launching its interactive online game “Swiss All Stars 1993-2008.”
At www.swissallstars.ch, the long-standing main sponsor of the national team takes a look at the footballers – over 100 in number – who have represented Switzerland between 1993 and 2008. The object of the game is to select a “Swiss All Stars” team, consisting of the 11 players from the last 15 years who receive the most votes.
All participants in the game will be eligible to win one of 100 attractive prizes worth more than 80,000 francs. The main prize is a trip for two to the World Cup in South Africa in June 2010.
“Swiss All Stars 1993-2008” is an interactive online game. On the virtual playing field, everything revolves around the 114 footballers who have represented the national team from the beginning of Credit Suisse’s partnership with the Swiss football association in 1993 until now. The object of the game is to select a “Swiss All Stars” team, consisting of the 11 players of the past 15 years who receive the most votes. The game is open for participants from 3 March to 30 June 2008, either on the internet at www.swissallstars.ch or at the branches of Credit Suisse.
With statistics, pictures, and brief profiles, there is a lot of useful information about the 114 international players who are eligible for selection: the key successes, goals, appearances, and minutes played. The latest status of the public vote can be followed online – i.e. which players are ahead in the ranking and the provisional composition of the Swiss All Stars team.
Participants are entered automatically in the grand final draw with attactive competition prizes. The main prize is a football trip to South Africa in June 2010 for two persons worth around CHF 20,000. With a total of five additional competitions between 17 March and 25 May 2008, participants in the “Swiss All Stars” selection will have other chances to win additional attractive prizes, such as five pairs of tickets for the international match between Switzerland and Slovakia on 24 May in Lugano, or five national team jerseys with original signatures.
The favorite players can be selected on the internet at www.swissallstars.ch. From 3 March 2008, the branches of Credit Suisse will be equipped with voting booths at which clients and visitors can also put together their personal Swiss All Stars team. Subsequently, from 21 April to 30 June 2008, the Lichthof shopping arcade at Paradeplatz in Zurich will host an exhibition on “15 Years as a Partner to Swiss Football.” Mobile voting booths at Zurich airport, the Sihlcity shopping center on the outskirts of Zurich, as well as in various branches of Ochsner Sport complete the offer.
Credit Suisse has been a partner to Swiss national football teams since 1993 and – thanks to the contract extension announced in advance last fall – is set to remain so until at least 2011. The 15-year partnership has enjoyed many successes, and another highlight is now just around the corner – the participation of the senior national team in the European Championship, co-hosted by Switzerland itself. As the key partner of Swiss football, Credit Suisse is proud that the Swiss national team will be appearing before an international audience in a European Championship contested in its own country.
Through its activities, Credit Suisse is inviting the Swiss people to ‘show their colors’ too, and enthusiastically support the national team at the European Championship on home turf. As well as being targeted at football fans, the attractive package of measures is also designed to prepare the population at large for the upcoming festival of football.
